Servings: 1

Ingredients

Ice
crushed or cubed, for serving
Sugar cube
1 per serving
Absinthe
1.5 ounces (45 ml)
Ice-cold water
3-5 ounces (90-150 ml), to taste
Lemon twist
for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by chilling your glass and absinthe spoon by placing them in the freezer for a few minutes.
  2. Once chilled, place the sugar cube on the absinthe spoon and position it over a glass.
  3. Pour the absinthe slowly over the sugar cube, allowing it to dissolve gradually into the glass below.
  4. Take your ice-cold water and begin to slowly drip it over the sugar cube and dissolved absinthe. This process should be gentle, allowing for a delicate transformation.
  5. Continue dripping the water until you achieve your desired dilution. Generally, this will take 3 to 5 ounces of water, depending on your taste preference.
  6. Stir gently to combine the ingredients, ensuring a smooth blend.
  7. If desired, garnish with a twist of lemon for a zesty aroma and serve immediately.
