Acadian Spiced Apple Coffee

Indulge in a warm, comforting cup of Acadian Spiced Apple Coffee. This delightful beverage, inspired by the culinary traditions of the Acadian people, combines the robustness of freshly brewed coffee with the sweet and tangy flavors of apple cider. Infused with aromatic spices like cinnamon and cloves, it's topped with a lavish dollop of whipped cream, adding a velvety richness that makes it a perfect companion for a chilly morning or a cozy evening.

Serves 2

Ingredients

Ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon, plus more for garnish
Whipped cream
to taste
Brown sugar
2 tablespoons
Cloves
4 whole
Cinnamon stick
1
Strong brewed coffee
2 cups
Apple cider
1 cup

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the apple cider, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, and brown sugar.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  3. Once dissolved, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes. This process allows the spices to infuse their flavors into the cider.
  4. After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat. Strain the mixture to remove the whole spices, leaving behind a spiced apple cider syrup.
  5. Next, pour the freshly brewed coffee into two mugs, dividing it evenly.
  6. Slowly pour the spiced apple cider syrup into the mugs of coffee, stirring gently to combine.
  7. Top each mug with a generous amount of whipped cream. Sprinkle some ground cinnamon on top for garnish.
  8. Serve your Acadian Spiced Apple Coffee hot and savor each sip.

Tips

  • 💡 For a festive twist, you can add a splash of caramel syrup. If you prefer a dairy-free option, coconut cream makes a delightful substitute for whipped cream.
