Crispy Air Fryer Avocado Fries

Indulge in the delightful crunch of crispy avocado fries, a modern twist on a classic snack. These golden, air-fried delights feature creamy avocado coated in a savory Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, making them the perfect appetizer or snack for any gathering. The air fryer gives them a satisfyingly crispy exterior while keeping the inside tender and buttery. Serve them hot with a zesty dipping sauce for an extra kick!

Serves 4

Ingredients

Cooking spray
as needed
Paprika
1 teaspoon
Garlic powder
1 teaspoon
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup, grated
Breadcrumbs
1 cup (panko for extra crunch)
Egg
1, beaten
Avocado
2 ripe, halved and pitted
Dipping sauce (optional)
1/2 cup, recipe below

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice each avocado half into wedges and set aside.
  3. In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well.
  4. Dip each avocado wedge into the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Place the coated avocado wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching for even cooking.
  6. Lightly spray the avocado wedges with cooking spray to enhance crispiness.
  7. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until the avocado fries are golden brown and crispy.
  8. While the fries are cooking, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing your choice of 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, and a pinch of salt for a refreshing dip.
  9. Serve the hot avocado fries with the dipping sauce alongside.

Tips

  • 💡 For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • 💡 Try using different types of cheese, such as cheddar or mozzarella, for a unique flavor.
  • 💡 Serve with a variety of dipping sauces, such as ranch, salsa, or a spicy aioli.
