Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk, beaten egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth and well combined.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be cautious not to overmix, as this can result in dense donuts.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for approximately 5 minutes.
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.
- Transfer the donut batter into a piping bag or a ziplock bag with one corner snipped off.
- Pipe the batter into the air fryer basket in a circular shape to form the classic donut shape, leaving some space between each donut for expansion.
- Cook the donuts in the air fryer for 5 minutes, then carefully flip them over and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the donuts from the air fryer and allow them to cool for a few minutes on a wire rack.
- Dust the warm donuts with powdered sugar just before serving for an added touch of sweetness.
Tips
- For a chocolate glaze, melt 1/2 cup of chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and dip the cooled donuts in the glaze.
- Experiment with different flavorings such as almond extract or add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the batter for a warm spice note.
- Try adding colorful sprinkles on top of the donuts after glazing for a fun twist!
