Crispy Air Fryer Ravioli

Indulge in the delightful crunch of these air-fried ravioli, a modern twist on a classic Italian favorite. Perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, with a warm and cheesy filling that bursts with flavor in every bite. Dipped in a rich marinara sauce, these crispy ravioli make for a fantastic appetizer or snack that will impress your family and friends. The air fryer not only enhances the texture but also makes this dish a healthier alternative to traditional frying. Enjoy a taste of Italy right in your kitchen!

Serves 4

Ingredients

Frozen ravioli
1 pound
Egg
1, beaten
Breadcrumbs
1 cup
Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon
Marinara sauce
1 cup
Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup, grated (optional for serving)
Olive oil spray
as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, beat the egg. In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning together.
  3. Dip each frozen ravioli into the beaten egg, ensuring it's fully coated, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until well covered.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray for extra crispiness.
  5. Place the coated ravioli in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece for even cooking.
  6. Cook for 6 minutes, then carefully flip the ravioli and cook for an additional 6 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. While the ravioli are cooking, heat the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave until warm.
  8. Once cooked, remove the ravioli from the air fryer and serve hot with the warm marinara sauce for dipping. Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.

Tips

  • 💡 For added flavor, try mixing grated Parmesan cheese into the breadcrumb mixture.
  • 💡 You can use different types of ravioli, such as spinach and ricotta, or mushroom, for varied tastes.
  • 💡 Ensure the ravioli are frozen; thawed or fresh ravioli may not crisp up as well.
