Ingredients

Original recipe serves 1

Rye whiskey
2 ounces
Vermouth
1 ounce
Pineapple juice
1 ounce
Ice cubes
as needed
Lemon twist
1 (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by chilling your cocktail glass in the freezer for a few minutes. This will keep your cocktail cool for a longer time.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. The more ice, the better the chill.
  3. Pour the rye whiskey, vermouth, and pineapple juice into the shaker.
  4. Cover the shaker and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds. This not only combines the ingredients but also chills them and slightly dilutes the drink for a smoother taste.
  5. Strain the cocktail into your chilled glass. This will keep out small ice chips and any pulp from the pineapple juice.
  6. Garnish with a lemon twist. To do this, cut a thin slice of lemon peel, twist it over the drink to release the oils, and drop it in.

Tips

  • 💡 For a variation, try using bourbon instead of rye for a slightly sweeter cocktail.
  • 💡 Always use fresh pineapple juice if possible. It gives the cocktail a fresher, more vibrant flavor.
