Andhra Prawn Curry

Andhra Prawn Curry is a spicy and tangy dish with a flavor of garam masala and ground mustard. This curry is a delight for all seafood lovers.

Ingredients

  • Coriander leaves (for garnish)
  • Oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Garam masala powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Red chilli powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Turmeric powder (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Cumin seeds (1 teaspoon)
  • Mustard seeds (1 teaspoon)
  • Garlic (6 cloves, minced)
  • Green chillies (2, slit)
  • Tomatoes (2, finely chopped)
  • Onions (2, finely chopped)
  • Prawns (500 grams)

Instructions

  1. Clean the prawns and keep them aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped onions, green chillies and minced garlic. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.
  5. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add the prawns and cook on medium flame for about 10-15 minutes.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
