Andhra Prawn Curry

Ingredients
- Prawns
- 500g, cleaned and deveined
- Oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Salt
- to taste
- Garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon
- Garlic
- 4 cloves, minced
- Green chillies
- 2, slit
- Tomatoes
- 2, chopped
- Onions
- 1 large, finely chopped
- Coriander leaves
- for garnish
Instructions
- Clean the prawns thoroughly and set them aside.
- In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds, allowing them to splutter and release their aromas.
- Add the finely chopped onions and slit green chillies to the pan. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown, infusing the oil with flavor.
- Stir in the minced garlic and continue to sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan. Cook until they soften and blend into a rich base, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle in the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to combine all the spices with the tomato-onion mixture, allowing it to cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Gently add the cleaned prawns to the pan. Cook on medium flame for about 10-15 minutes, or until the prawns turn pink and are cooked through.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or your favorite Indian bread.
