Servings: 8

Ingredients

Sesame dressing
1/2 cup
Fresh cilantro leaves
1/2 cup
Fresh mint leaves
1/2 cup
Rice paper wrappers
8
Lettuce leaves
8
Walnuts
1/2 cup, chopped
Asian pears
2, thinly sliced
Ingredients for Sesame Dressing
Sesame oil
1/4 cup
Rice vinegar
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
Honey
1 tablespoon
Freshly grated ginger
1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. To prepare the sesame dressing, whisk together sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey, and freshly grated ginger in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Fill a large bowl with warm water.
  3. Dip one rice paper wrapper into the water for about 10-15 seconds until it becomes soft and pliable. Be careful not to soak it for too long as it may tear.
  4. Place the softened wrapper on a clean, flat surface.
  5. On the lower third of the wrapper, layer a lettuce leaf, a few slices of Asian pear, a sprinkle of chopped walnuts, and a couple of mint and cilantro leaves.
  6. Drizzle about a tablespoon of the sesame dressing over the filling.
  7. Fold the sides of the wrapper inward over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom, similar to a burrito.
  8. Repeat this process with the remaining wrappers and filling ingredients.
  9. Serve the wraps immediately for the best texture and flavor. These are perfect as a refreshing appetizer or a light lunch.
