Instructions
- Preheat a grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and pepper. Shape into 4 equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Grill the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of grilling to melt.
- While the patties are cooking, fry the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, fry the eggs sunny-side up or to your preference, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill until golden brown.
- To assemble the burgers, spread a layer of mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, beetroot, pineapple, and the grilled cheese-topped beef patty.
- Top each patty with a fried egg and a slice of bacon, then place the top bun on each burger.
- Serve immediately with a side of chips or a fresh salad.
Tips
- For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a slice of avocado or using a spicy aioli instead of regular mayonnaise.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese, like Swiss or blue cheese, for a unique twist on this classic.
- If you're feeling adventurous, try adding jalapeños for a spicy kick!
