Servings: 2
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons, softened
- Bread
- 4 slices (preferably sourdough or artisan bread)
- Brie cheese
- 6 ounces, sliced
- Bacon
- 6 slices
- Fresh thyme (optional)
- 1 teaspoon, chopped (for added flavor)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the brie cheese slices evenly.
- Top the brie with crispy bacon slices and sprinkle with fresh thyme if using.
- Cover with the remaining bread slices, ensuring the buttered side is facing up.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Once hot, place the sandwiches in the skillet.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted. You may need to lower the heat to prevent burning the bread while the cheese melts.
- Remove from the skillet and let cool for a few minutes before cutting in half.
- Serve warm and enjoy the delectable combination of flavors!
