Hearty Bacon and Tomato Omelette

Experience a delightful start to your day with this delectable omelette. Stuffed with crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes, and creamy cheddar cheese, this traditional breakfast dish is a culinary masterpiece that will delight your taste buds. Originating from France in the 17th century, the omelette has since evolved into various versions across the world. This recipe, with its hearty bacon and fresh tomatoes, is a nod to a classic American breakfast.

Serves 2

Ingredients

Butter
1 tablespoon
Green onions
2, finely chopped
Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup, shredded
Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon, ground
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
Milk
1/4 cup
Eggs
4, large
Tomatoes
1 medium, diced
Bacon
4 slices, cooked crispy and crumbled

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Heat the butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until it starts to sizzle.
  3. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the edges start to set, gently lifting the edges with a spatula to allow any uncooked egg to flow underneath.
  4. Sprinkle the crispy bacon, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and finely chopped green onions evenly over one half of the omelette.
  5. Using a spatula, carefully fold the other half of the omelette over the filling and reduce the heat to low. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the omelette is cooked through.
  6. Gently slide the omelette onto a plate, cut in half, and serve hot. Enjoy this hearty breakfast with a side of toasted bread or fresh fruit.

Tips

  • 💡 For a lighter version, you can replace bacon with turkey bacon or use low-fat cheese. You can also add other vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for added flavor and nutrition.
