1 tablespoon
Ketchup
1 tablespoon
Salt

Pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the bacon slices to the pan, ensuring they do not overlap. Cook the bacon until it's crispy, which should take about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Once the bacon is cooked to your preference, remove it from the pan and drain the excess fat using a paper towel.
  4. While the bacon is resting, toast the bread slices until they reach a golden-brown color.
  5. Spread the unsalted butter evenly on one side of each toasted bread slice. The heat from the toast should melt the butter, infusing the bread with a rich, buttery flavor.
  6. Place the cooked, crispy bacon on one slice of the buttered bread.
  7. Lightly season the bacon with salt and pepper to enhance the natural flavors.
  8. Spread the ketchup on the other buttered bread slice. The tanginess from the ketchup will balance the richness of the butter and bacon.
  9. Place the bread slice with the ketchup on top of the bacon, ensuring the ketchup side is facing down.
  10. Cut the sandwich in half diagonally and serve immediately while it's still warm.

Tips

  • 💡 For a twist, you can try adding lettuce and tomato to make it a BLT, or add a fried egg to make it a breakfast Bacon Butty.
  • 💡 For a healthier version, you can use whole wheat bread and turkey bacon.
