Jalapeno peppers
10, halved and seeded
Cream cheese
8 ounces, softened
Bacon
10 slices, cut in half
Toothpicks
as needed
Garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Onion powder
1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Chives or green onions
2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Cooking spray
for greasing the baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  3. Cut the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and carefully remove the seeds and membranes to reduce the heat (you can leave some seeds for a spicier popper).
  4. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with garlic powder and onion powder if using, until well combined.
  5. Fill each jalapeno half generously with the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Wrap each jalapeno half with a half slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick to hold everything together.
  7. Arrange the bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the poppers are heated through.
