1/2 cup
Egg whites
4 large
Ice cream
4 cups (your choice of flavor)
Sponge cake

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Place the sponge cake on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Spread the ice cream evenly over the sponge cake, creating a thick layer. Ensure that the ice cream reaches the edges to prevent melting during baking.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 1 hour to firm up the ice cream.
  6. In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites on medium speed until frothy.
  7. Gradually add the granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt while continuing to beat on high speed until stiff peaks form and the meringue is glossy.
  8. Remove the baking sheet from the freezer and quickly spread the meringue over the ice cream and cake, making sure to completely cover the dessert. Use a spatula to create decorative peaks in the meringue for an elegant finish.
