Ultimate Loaded Baked Potatoes

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with these crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside loaded baked potatoes. Topped with creamy sour cream, crispy bacon, rich cheddar cheese, and fresh chives, they are the perfect side dish or even a satisfying main course. Baked potatoes have been a beloved dish for centuries, originating from the Americas and gaining popularity worldwide due to their versatility and delicious flavor.

Serves 4

Ingredients

Potatoes
4 large russet potatoes
Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Salt
1 teaspoon, for seasoning
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon, for seasoning
Shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup
Bacon
4 slices, cooked and crumbled
Chives
1/4 cup, chopped
Sour cream
1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt, then pat them dry with a paper towel.
  3. Using a fork, poke several holes in each potato to allow steam to escape during baking.
  4. Rub each potato with olive oil, coating them evenly, then sprinkle generously with salt and black pepper.
  5. Place the prepared potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to catch any drips.
  6. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the skins are crispy and a fork easily pierces the insides.
  7. Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before handling.
  8. Cut a slit in the top of each potato and gently squeeze the ends to fluff up the insides.
  9. Top each potato with a dollop of sour cream, followed by crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and a sprinkle of chopped chives.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious loaded baked potatoes!

Tips

  • 💡 For an extra creamy filling, mash the insides of the potatoes slightly before adding the toppings.
  • 💡 Feel free to experiment with toppings like sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños, or different types of cheese.
  • 💡 If you're short on time, you can microwave the potatoes for 10-12 minutes before finishing them in the oven for a crispy skin.
