Ingredients
- Potatoes
- 4 large russet potatoes
- Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon, for seasoning
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon, for seasoning
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup
- Bacon
- 4 slices, cooked and crumbled
- Chives
- 1/4 cup, chopped
- Sour cream
- 1/2 cup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt, then pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Using a fork, poke several holes in each potato to allow steam to escape during baking.
- Rub each potato with olive oil, coating them evenly, then sprinkle generously with salt and black pepper.
- Place the prepared potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to catch any drips.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the skins are crispy and a fork easily pierces the insides.
- Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before handling.
- Cut a slit in the top of each potato and gently squeeze the ends to fluff up the insides.
- Top each potato with a dollop of sour cream, followed by crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and a sprinkle of chopped chives.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious loaded baked potatoes!
Tips
- For an extra creamy filling, mash the insides of the potatoes slightly before adding the toppings.
- Feel free to experiment with toppings like sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños, or different types of cheese.
- If you're short on time, you can microwave the potatoes for 10-12 minutes before finishing them in the oven for a crispy skin.
