Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side up and sear for about 4 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the salmon is cooking, prepare the balsamic glaze. In a small saucepan, combine the minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and dried thyme. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens slightly.
- Carefully flip the salmon fillets to skin-side down. Brush the tops generously with the balsamic glaze.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and drizzle the remaining balsamic glaze over the salmon before serving.
Tips
- For added flavor, consider marinating the salmon in the balsamic mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Pair this dish with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad to create a well-rounded meal.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
