- Milk
- 1 cup (or dairy-free alternative)
- Egg
- 1, large
- Vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon
- Baking powder
- 2 teaspoons
- Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons (plus more for serving)
- Greek yogurt
- 1 cup (for serving)
- Fresh berries
- 1 cup (for serving, such as strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the ripe bananas, rolled oats, milk, egg, vanilla extract, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and maple syrup. Blend on high until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides if necessary.
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of oil.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of the batter onto the preheated waffle iron for each waffle. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crispy, usually about 4-5 minutes, depending on your waffle iron.
- Carefully remove the waffles and serve immediately topped with a dollop of Greek yogurt, fresh berries, and an extra drizzle of maple syrup.
- Enjoy your delicious Banana Oat Waffles warm!
Tips
- For added flavor, consider mixing in a handful of chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the batter.
- If you're looking for a gluten-free option, ensure your oats are certified gluten-free.
- These waffles freeze well! Make a big batch and store them in the freezer. Reheat them in the toaster for a quick breakfast.
