Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- To the mashed bananas, add the melted butter, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing to ensure a tender bread.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts, distributing them evenly through the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the bread is browning too quickly, cover loosely with aluminum foil.
- Remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. This will make slicing easier and prevent the bread from becoming soggy.
- Serve as is or lightly toasted with a smear of butter. Enjoy!
