
Banh Mi
This classic Vietnamese sandwich is made with a baguette, pickled vegetables, and a variety of meats.
Ingredients
- Ham (1/2 pound, cooked and sliced)
- Chicken (1/2 pound, cooked and sliced)
- Pork belly (1/2 pound, cooked and sliced)
- Lime (1, cut into wedges)
- Cilantro (1/4 cup, chopped)
- Jalapeno (1, thinly sliced)
- Cucumber (1, thinly sliced)
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- Sugar (2 tablespoons)
- White vinegar (1/4 cup)
- Daikon radish (1 cup, julienned)
- Carrots (1 cup, julienned)
- Sriracha (2 tablespoons)
- Mayonnaise (1/4 cup)
- Baguette (1, cut into 4 pieces)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Split the baguette into 4 pieces and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and sriracha.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the carrots, daikon radish, vinegar, sugar, and salt.
- Spread the mayonnaise mixture on the toasted baguette pieces.
- Top with the pickled vegetables, cucumber, jalapeno, cilantro, and lime wedges.
- Top with the pork belly, chicken, and ham slices.
- Serve immediately.
