Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Lime wedges

Chili sauce
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Fish sauce
1 tablespoon
Bean sprouts
1 cup
Green onions
2, finely chopped
Pork belly
100 grams, thinly sliced
Shrimp
100 grams, peeled and deveined
Cooking oil
2 tablespoons
Rice paper
4 sheets

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  2. Lightly brush each side of the rice paper sheets with cooking oil. Lay them on the heated grill. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until they turn crispy and lightly browned. Once done, set them aside to cool.
  3. In a separate pan, heat the remaining cooking oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and pork belly. Cook until they are fully cooked and slightly crispy. This should take around 5-7 minutes.
  4. Top each grilled rice paper sheet with the cooked shrimp and pork belly, chopped green onions, and bean sprouts. Drizzle with fish sauce, soy sauce, and chili sauce.
  5. Fold the rice paper sheets in half, akin to a taco, and serve with lime wedges on the side. Squeeze the lime juice over the Banh Trang Nuong just before eating for a tangy kick.
