- Lettuce
- 1 cup, shredded
- Pickles
- 1/2 cup, sliced
- Red onion
- 1/2, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the BBQ sauce onto the chicken breasts, flipping once to coat both sides evenly.
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes to retain its juices.
- While the chicken is resting, toast the hamburger buns on the grill for about 1 minute or until lightly golden.
- To assemble the sandwiches, place a grilled chicken breast on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top with slices of red onion, pickles, lettuce, and tomato.
- If desired, spread additional BBQ sauce on the top half of the buns before closing the sandwiches.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately, enjoying the smoky, tangy flavors.
Tips
- For added flavor, marinate the chicken in the BBQ sauce for 1-2 hours before grilling.
- Try adding some smoked paprika to the seasoning for an extra smoky flavor.
- Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorite ingredients, such as avocado, jalapeños, or cheese.
