Berber Spiced Coffee

This aromatic Berber spiced coffee is a traditional North African beverage infused with warm spices.

Ingredients

  • Milk (1/2 cup)
  • Sugar (2 teaspoons)
  • Water (2 cups)
  • Cloves (4)
  • Cinnamon stick (1)
  • Cardamom pods (4, crushed)
  • Ground coffee (2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the ground coffee, crushed cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, cloves, and water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the coffee steep for another 5 minutes.
  4. Strain the coffee into cups or mugs.
  5. Stir in sugar to taste.
  6. Heat the milk in a separate saucepan or microwave until hot.
  7. Pour the hot milk into the coffee and stir gently.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
