Ingredients

Original recipe serves 8

Fresh blackberries
1 cup, washed and stems removed
Unsalted butter
1/2 cup, softened
Powdered sugar
1/2 cup
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon, freshly squeezed

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, puree the fresh blackberries until smooth. If desired, strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds for a smoother texture.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, powdered sugar, and lemon juice. Beat with an electric mixer or whisk until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Add the blackberry puree to the butter mixture and mix until well combined and the color is uniform.
  4. Transfer the blackberry butter to a clean jar or container with a tight-fitting lid.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the butter to firm up.
  6. Serve chilled on toast, muffins, or scones, and enjoy the burst of berry flavor!

Tips

  • 💡 For a twist, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract for a hint of warmth.
  • 💡 This blackberry butter also makes a wonderful topping for pancakes or waffles.
  • 💡 Consider using raspberries or strawberries in place of blackberries for a different flavor profile.
