Bloody Caesar

The Bloody Caesar is much more than a cocktail; it's a Canadian national treasure! Hailing from Calgary, it was first concocted in 1969 as a signature drink for the Calgary Inn's new Italian restaurant. This savory cocktail combines the warmth of vodka with the tangy blend of clamato juice, lime, and an array of seasonings. It's a symphony of flavors in every sip and an absolute must-try for anyone looking for a cocktail with a kick.

1, for garnish
Celery stalk
1, for garnish
Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon, freshly ground
Celery salt
1/4 teaspoon
Lime juice
1 tablespoon, freshly squeezed
Hot sauce
1/2 teaspoon, adjust to taste
Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon
Clamato juice
1 cup

1.5 ounces

Instructions

  1. Rim a highball glass with lime juice and then dip it in a mix of celery salt and black pepper.
  2. Fill the glass with ice cubes to keep the cocktail cold.
  3. Pour in the vodka, followed by the clamato juice.
  4. Add Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and the remaining lime juice.
  5. Stir the mixture well to evenly distribute the flavors.
  6. Garnish with a fresh celery stalk and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy the rich, tangy taste of this classic Canadian cocktail.

Tips

  • 💡 For a spicier kick, consider adding a few drops of Tabasco sauce.
  • 💡 For a smoky flavor, try using smoked sea salt instead of celery salt.
