Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Turn occasionally for even cooking.
- Once the bacon is crispy, remove it from the skillet and drain the excess fat on paper towels.
- Toast the bread slices until they reach a golden-brown color. You can use a toaster or a hot skillet for this.
- Spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each toasted bread slice.
- On two bread slices, layer a lettuce leaf, a few tomato slices, and three slices of crispy bacon. Season the layers with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Cover the seasoned layers with the remaining bread slices, mayonnaise side down.
- Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally for a classic presentation and serve immediately.
- Enjoy the delightful crunch of lettuce, the tanginess of ripe tomato, the creaminess of mayonnaise, and the smoky flavor of bacon in every bite.
Tips
- For a healthier version, choose whole grain bread, low-fat mayonnaise, and turkey bacon. You can also add some slices of avocado for a Californian twist, or try it with a fried egg for a delicious breakfast sandwich.
