Creamy Blue Cheese and Spicy Buffalo Chicken Dip
Delve into the world of flavor with this creamy, spicy, and utterly irresistible dip. The indulgent blue cheese pairs beautifully with the fiery kick of buffalo sauce, enveloping tender shredded chicken for a match made in culinary heaven. This dish is a favorite in American cuisine, often served at Super Bowl parties and other casual gatherings. Its origins are linked to the city of Buffalo, New York, where buffalo chicken wings were first created. This dip is a fun twist on that classic flavor combination. Serve it with crisp celery sticks, carrot sticks, or tortilla chips for a satisfying crunch that complements the creamy dip.
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon or to taste
- Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon or to taste
- Celery
- 1 stalk, diced
- Green onions
- 2, sliced
- Blue cheese crumbles
- 1/2 cup
- Buffalo sauce
- 1/2 cup
- Blue cheese dressing
- 1/2 cup
- Cream cheese
- 8 ounces, softened
- Chicken breast
- 2 cups, cooked and shredded
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, blue cheese dressing, and buffalo sauce. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Add the shredded chicken, diced celery, sliced green onions, and blue cheese crumbles to the cream cheese mixture. Season with salt and pepper, then stir until everything is evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly. You'll know it's ready when the edges start to turn a golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. This will allow the dip to thicken up a bit, making it easier to scoop up with your chips or veggies.
- Serve the dip warm with your choice of accompaniments. Tortilla chips, celery sticks, and carrot sticks are all great options. Enjoy!
