Servings: 4

Ingredients

Vegetable oil
2 tablespoons
Water
1/4 cup (for steaming)
Wonton wrappers
20-24 pieces
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Fresh ginger
1 tablespoon, grated
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Green onions
3, finely sliced
Ground pork
1 pound
Bok choy
2 cups, finely chopped
Dipping sauce (optional)
to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped bok choy, ground pork, sliced green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place a spoonful of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold it in half diagonally to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal, ensuring there are no air pockets. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the dumplings in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.
  4. Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet (it will steam) and immediately cover with a lid. Allow the dumplings to steam for about 5 minutes, or until they are cooked through and the water has evaporated.
  5. Serve the dumplings hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as a mixture of soy sauce and rice vinegar, or a spicy chili oil.
