Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Salt
- to taste
- Black pepper
- to taste
- Green onions
- 2, chopped
- Sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger
- 1 tablespoon, minced
- Chicken broth
- 6 cups
- Bok choy
- 2 cups, chopped
- Wonton wrappers
- 1 package
- Shrimp
- 1 pound, peeled and deveined
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the shrimp, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Pulse until the mixture is well combined and has a paste-like consistency.
- Place a spoonful of the shrimp mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold in half to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal them completely, ensuring no air is trapped inside. Optionally, you can fold the corners of the triangle towards the center to create a more traditional wonton shape.
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, gently add the wontons and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface, indicating they are cooked through.
- Add the chopped bok choy and sliced green onions to the pot. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the bok choy is tender and vibrant.
- Season the soup with additional salt and pepper to taste before serving.
- Ladle the soup into bowls and enjoy hot, garnished with extra green onions if desired.
