Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the beef brisket, chicken, and pork sausage. Cover with enough water to submerge the meats and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and skim off any foam that rises to the surface. This process helps to ensure a clear, flavorful broth.
- Add the quartered onion, smashed garlic cloves, bay leaves, and season with salt and pepper. Cover and let the mixture simmer for about 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, add the chopped carrots, celery, and quartered potatoes to the pot. Stir gently to incorporate the vegetables.
- Continue to simmer for another hour, or until the vegetables are tender and the meats are cooked through. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the meats from the pot and allow them to rest for a few minutes before slicing them into serving pieces.
- Arrange the sliced meats and vegetables on a large platter. If desired, strain the broth through a fine sieve and serve it in a bowl on the side.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving to add a vibrant touch and enhance the flavors.
Tips
- For a richer flavor, you can roast the meats in the oven for 20 minutes at 400°F (200°C) before adding them to the pot.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like turnips or parsnips for added flavor and nutrition.
- Serve with a side of salsa verde or horseradish sauce for an extra kick.
