Ingredients
- Milk
- 2 cups
- Dark rum
- 1/4 cup
- Amaretti cookies
- 1 cup, crushed
- Eggs
- 4 large
- Cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup
- Granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup
- Vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon
- Pinch of salt

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt, whisking until well blended.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the crushed amaretti cookies and dark rum, mixing thoroughly to incorporate all the flavors.
- Gradually add the milk while stirring continuously, ensuring the mixture is well combined and free of lumps.
- If desired, add vanilla extract for an extra layer of flavor, mixing it in well.
- Pour the custard mixture into a greased baking dish or individual ramekins for portion control.
- Place the baking dish in a larger oven-safe pan filled with water (bain-marie) to create a gentle steam environment for even cooking.
