Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Ground beef (1 pound)
  • Onion (1 medium, finely chopped)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Egg (1, beaten)
  • Breadcrumbs (1/2 cup)
  • Fresh parsley (1/4 cup, chopped)
  • Cumin (1 teaspoon)
  • Paprika (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Vegetable oil (2 tablespoons (for frying))
  • Tomato sauce (1 cup (optional, for serving))

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, approximately 1 inch in diameter, ensuring they are compact for even cooking.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the meatballs to the skillet in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  4. Cook the meatballs for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally to brown them evenly on all sides. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C) for safety.
  5. Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  6. If desired, heat the tomato sauce in a small saucepan and serve the boulettes warm, either drizzled with the sauce or on the side for dipping.
