Bourbon and Brown Sugar Marinade
Experience the fusion of sweet and smoky flavors with this Bourbon and Brown Sugar Marinade, a delightful concoction that's perfect for grilling meats. The bourbon, with its rich depth and notes of vanilla, perfectly complements the molasses-like sweetness of brown sugar, creating an extraordinary caramelized flavor. The addition of soy sauce brings umami and saltiness, while Dijon mustard adds a tangy kick, making this marinade a symphony of flavors that will elevate your grilling game.
Servings: Enough for 2 lbs of meat
Ingredients
- Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon, freshly ground
- Garlic
- 3 cloves, minced
- Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce
- 1/2 cup
- Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup
- Bourbon
- 1/2 cup
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup of bourbon, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, 3 cloves of minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper.
- Whisk the mixture vigorously until the sugar is fully dissolved and the ingredients are well combined.
- Place your choice of meat (pork or chicken works best) in a large zip-top bag. Pour the marinade over it, ensuring the meat is fully coated.
- Seal the bag, pressing out as much air as possible. Massage the bag gently to distribute the marinade evenly.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. For a deeper flavor penetration, marinate the meat overnight.
- Preheat your grill. Remove the meat from the marinade, shaking off the excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Grill the meat as desired. Remember, the sugar in the marinade can cause flare-ups, so watch it closely.
