Ingredients
- Unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons, softened
- White bread
- 8 slices
- Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup, grated
- Tomatoes
- 2 large, sliced
- Onion
- 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Salt

Instructions
- Start by buttering one side of each slice of bread generously using softened unsalted butter.
- On the non-buttered side of four slices, layer the grated cheddar cheese, sliced tomatoes, and thinly sliced onion. Season generously with salt and pepper to enhance the flavors.
- Top these four slices with the remaining slices of bread, ensuring the buttered sides are facing up.
- Preheat your braai (grill) to medium heat. Place the sandwiches on the braai grid and close it.
- Grill the sandwiches carefully, turning frequently, until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has melted, which should take about 15 minutes.
- Once perfectly grilled, remove from the heat and let them cool slightly before cutting them into halves or quarters.
