4
Buns
4
Sauerkraut
1 cup
Mustard
4 tablespoons
Beer
1 can (355 ml)
Onion
1, large, sliced
Vegetable oil
2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat, or if using a skillet, heat it over medium heat.
  2. Grill or pan-fry the Bratwurst sausages, turning occasionally, until they are brown and fully cooked. This should take about 10-12 minutes.
  3. While the sausages are cooking, heat the vegetable oil in a separate skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the sliced onion to the skillet and sauté until it becomes soft and translucent, approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Pour the beer into the skillet with the onions, stirring well. Bring this mixture to a simmer.
  6. Add the cooked Bratwurst sausages to the beer and onions. Let them simmer together for about 5 minutes. This allows the sausages to soak up the beer and onion flavors.

Tips

  • 💡 For an alcohol-free version, replace the beer with beef broth or apple cider.
  • 💡 Ensure the Bratwurst sausages are fully cooked to a safe internal temperature of 160°F.
