
Broccoli and Cauliflower Gratin
This creamy and cheesy broccoli and cauliflower gratin is the perfect side dish for any meal.
Ingredients
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Breadcrumbs (1/2 cup)
- Parmesan cheese (1/2 cup, grated)
- Cheddar cheese (1 cup, shredded)
- Milk (2 cups)
- All (purpose flour - 1/4 cup)
- Butter (4 tablespoons)
- Cauliflower (1 head, cut into florets)
- Broccoli (1 head, cut into florets)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Steam the broccoli and cauliflower florets until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the steamed broccoli and cauliflower in a baking dish.
- Pour the cheese sauce over the vegetables and mix well to coat.
- In a small bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the top of the gratin.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
