- Breadcrumbs
- 1 cup, preferably whole wheat or panko
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon
- Onion
- 1 medium, finely chopped
- Sour cream
- 1 cup
- Cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10.5 oz)
- Cheddar cheese
- 2 cups, shredded
- Broccoli
- 4 cups, chopped into florets
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a pot, steam the chopped broccoli until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the steamed broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated.
- Transfer the broccoli and cheese mixture into a greased 9x13-inch casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter until the crumbs are well-coated. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the casserole for a crunchy topping.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly, and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. This allows the casserole to set for easier serving.
- Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy goodness with your favorite main dishes!
