Broccoli and Goat Cheese Omelette

A sumptuous, protein-packed breakfast featuring a fluffy omelette filled with tender, sautéed broccoli and creamy, tangy goat cheese. A French culinary delight, the omelette has been a breakfast staple since the Roman times. This modern twist adds a touch of sophistication with goat cheese and nutrient-packed broccoli.

Serves 1

Ingredients

Unsalted butter
1 tablespoon
Broccoli
1 cup, chopped
Eggs
3, large
Milk
2 tablespoons
Salt
1/4 teaspoon, or to taste
Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon, freshly ground
Goat cheese
1/4 cup, crumbled

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until it begins to sizzle.
  2. Add the chopped broccoli to the skillet, sauté for about 5 minutes or until it becomes vibrant green and tender.
  3. While the broccoli is cooking, in a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and freshly ground black pepper until well combined and frothy.
  4. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet over the sautéed broccoli, ensuring it spreads evenly.
  5. Cook the omelette for 2-3 minutes without stirring, until the edges start to set and the middle is still slightly runny.
  6. Sprinkle the crumbled goat cheese evenly over one half of the omelette.
  7. Using a spatula, carefully fold the other half of the omelette over the cheese-filled half.
  8. Allow the omelette to cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the omelette is fully cooked through.
  9. Gently slide the omelette onto a plate and serve immediately while hot. Enjoy this gourmet breakfast with a side of toasted bread or a fresh fruit salad.

Tips

  • 💡 For a richer flavor, you could add a pinch of nutmeg or some fresh herbs like chives or parsley to the egg mixture.
  • 💡 If you are not a fan of goat cheese, you can substitute it with feta cheese or your favorite melting cheese.
