These irresistible spicy buffalo wings are the life of the party, bringing a perfect balance of tangy heat and savory goodness. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, they are tossed in a buttery hot sauce that makes them utterly addictive. Ideal for game day or any lively gathering, these wings pair beautifully with a cool blue cheese dressing and crunchy celery sticks. Originating from Buffalo, New York, in the 1960s, these wings have become a beloved staple in American cuisine, embodying the spirit of casual dining and shared enjoyment.

Servings: 4-6

Ingredients

Chicken wings
2 pounds
Vegetable oil
2 tablespoons
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1 teaspoon
Onion powder
1 teaspoon
Garlic powder
1 teaspoon
Butter
1/2 cup
Hot sauce (such as Frank's RedHot)
1/2 cup
Celery sticks
for serving
Blue cheese dressing
for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, stir in the hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and remove from heat, allowing the sauce to sit and thicken slightly.
  3. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. Place the chicken wings on the baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil. Season with salt and black pepper, tossing to coat the wings evenly.
  4. Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are crispy and cooked through.
  5. Remove the wings from the oven and transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the prepared buffalo sauce over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated.
  6. Serve the spicy buffalo wings hot, accompanied by blue cheese dressing and fresh celery sticks on the side.
