Ingredients
- Ground pork (1 pound)
- Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
- Fish sauce (3 tablespoons)
- Sugar (1 tablespoon)
- Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Vermicelli noodles (8 ounces)
- Lettuce (2 cups, shredded)
- Cucumber (1, julienned)
- Mint leaves (1/2 cup)
- Cilantro (1/2 cup, chopped)
- Lime (1, cut into wedges)
- Roasted peanuts (1/4 cup, crushed)
- Hoisin sauce (2 tablespoons)
- Water (1 tablespoon)
- Rice vinegar (1 tablespoon)
- Chili garlic sauce (1 teaspoon)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, minced garlic, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined. Shape the mixture into small, flat patties, about 2 inches in diameter.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the pork patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a beautiful char.
- While the pork is grilling, cook the vermicelli noodles according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
- In a serving bowl, arrange the cooked vermicelli noodles. Top with shredded lettuce, sliced cucumber, mint leaves, and chopped cilantro for a vibrant burst of freshness.
- To prepare the sauce, in a small bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, water, rice vinegar, fish sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and chili garlic sauce until smooth and well combined.
- Serve the grilled pork patties over the bed of vermicelli noodles and vegetables. Generously sprinkle with crushed roasted peanuts and add lime wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick.
- Drizzle the prepared sauce over the dish or serve it on the side for dipping, allowing everyone to customize their own bowl.
