Balkan Burek

Ingredients
- 1, beaten (for egg wash) Egg
- 1/4 cup, plus more for brushing Vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1/4 cup, finely chopped Parsley
- 2 cloves, minced Garlic
- 1 large, finely chopped Onion
- 500 grams (roughly 1 pound) Ground beef
- 1 pack (roughly 450 grams or 1 pound) Phyllo dough

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cook until the onion turns translucent.
- Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and no longer pink.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the finely chopped parsley.
- Unroll the phyllo dough and cut it into sheets that fit the dimensions of your baking dish.
- Brush each sheet of phyllo dough with vegetable oil before layering.
- Layer half of the oiled phyllo sheets at the bottom of the baking dish.
- Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly over the layered phyllo sheets in the baking dish.
- Layer the remaining oiled phyllo sheets on top of the meat mixture.
- Brush the top layer of phyllo sheets with the beaten egg to give the burek a golden, shiny crust once baked.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the burek is golden brown and crispy.
- Let the burek cool slightly before serving to allow the filling to set.
