Buttered Noodles
A simple yet comforting Italian-American side dish, buttered noodles are perfect for pairing with a variety of main courses. The combination of rich butter, garlic, and Parmesan cheese creates a delightful flavor that is sure to please everyone at the table.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces Egg noodles
- 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
- 2 cloves, minced Garlic
- 1/2 cup, grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish) Fresh parsley

Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 6-8 minutes.
- While the noodles are cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Once the noodles are done, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the noodles.
- Add the drained noodles to the skillet with the garlic butter. Toss to coat the noodles evenly.
- If the noodles seem dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the cheese is melted and everything is combined.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
