Bacon
6 slices, chopped
Cabbage
1 medium head, shredded
Onion
1 large, diced
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Fresh parsley
1/4 cup, chopped (for garnish)
Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste
Paprika
1 teaspoon
Red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon (adjust for spice preference)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
  2. Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  5. Season the cabbage mixture with salt, black pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine and adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Return the cooked bacon to the skillet and mix it in with the cabbage mixture.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  8. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy warm!
