Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon, freshly ground
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Honey
- 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons
- Ginger
- 1 tablespoon, freshly grated
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Broccoli
- 2 cups, cut into small florets
- Cabbage
- 2 cups, thinly sliced
- Sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended. This will be your stir fry sauce.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for about a minute until they release their fragrant aromas.
- Introduce the sliced cabbage and broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir fry the vegetables for 5-7 minutes, until they are tender-crisp. Avoid overcooking to maintain their vibrant color and crunch.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the vegetables. Toss everything together to ensure the vegetables are evenly coated with the sauce.
- Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and coat the vegetables nicely.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Your Cabbage and Broccoli Stir Fry is ready to be served.
- Serve hot as a side dish or over steamed rice. If desired, garnish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for an added crunch and visual appeal.
