
Cabbage and Onion Tart
This delicious cabbage and onion tart is made with a flaky pastry crust and a savory filling of caramelized onions and tender cabbage.
Ingredients
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Parmesan cheese (1/2 cup, grated)
- Milk (1/4 cup)
- Eggs (2)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Onion (1 large, thinly sliced)
- Cabbage (1 small head, thinly sliced)
- Puff pastry (1 sheet, thawed)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet and place it in a tart pan. Trim any excess pastry.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Add the garlic and cabbage to the skillet and cook until the cabbage is tender, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the caramelized onion and cabbage mixture evenly over the puff pastry.
- Pour the egg mixture over the vegetables.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tart is golden brown and set.
- Allow the tart to cool slightly before serving. Cut into slices and enjoy!
