Servings: 4-6
Ingredients
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- Parmesan cheese (1/2 cup, grated)
- Milk (1/2 cup)
- Eggs (2, beaten)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Onion (1 large, thinly sliced)
- Cabbage (2 cups, shredded)
- Puff pastry (1 sheet, thawed)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a tart pan.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and fit it into the prepared tart pan, trimming any excess pastry.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook until caramelized, approximately 10-12 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and shredded cabbage to the skillet. Continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes until the cabbage is tender. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, milk, and grated Parmesan. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- Spread the caramelized onion and cabbage mixture evenly over the puff pastry in the tart pan.
- Pour the egg mixture over the vegetables, ensuring it seeps into the gaps.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tart is golden brown and the custard is set.
- Allow the tart to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
