Café Cubano, also known as Cuban espresso, is a robust and sweet coffee experience that embodies the vibrant spirit of Cuba. This traditional drink is celebrated for its bold flavor and smooth texture, making it a beloved staple in Cuban culture. Typically served in small, demitasse cups, Café Cubano is perfect for sharing with friends or enjoying on your own as an energizing pick-me-up throughout the day.

Water
1 cup
Granulated sugar
1/4 cup
Espresso coffee
2 ounces (about 2 shots)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Stir well to ensure that the sugar is evenly distributed.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved and the syrup is clear. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Brew the espresso coffee using an espresso machine or stovetop espresso maker, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Once the espresso is brewed, pour it into two small cups (demitasse cups work perfectly).
  5. Slowly pour the sugar syrup into each cup, stirring gently to combine the sweet syrup with the rich espresso.
