Calamari Rings

Crispy, golden and mouth-watering tender rings of calamari work either as an appetizer or a light main course.

Ingredients

  • Marinara sauce (for serving)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Black pepper (1/4 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Breadcrumbs (1 cup)
  • Eggs (2, beaten)
  • All (purpose flour - 1 cup)
  • Calamari (1 pound, cleaned and cut into rings)

Instructions

  1. Pat the calamari rings dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each calamari ring into the beaten eggs, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the calamari rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve the calamari rings with lemon wedges and marinara sauce.
