Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Calamari Rings (500g)
- All-Purpose Flour (1 cup)
- Eggs (2, beaten)
- Breadcrumbs (1 cup)
- Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
- Black Pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Vegetable Oil (enough for frying)
- Marinara Sauce (1 cup)
- Lemon Wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- To start, pat dry the calamari rings with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This helps the flour and breadcrumb mixture adhere better.
- Prepare the coating by combining the all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish. In another dish, have your breadcrumbs ready.
- Dip each calamari ring into the beaten eggs, making sure to coat them well. Then, dredge them in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are well covered.
- Heat your vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. To test if the oil is ready, drop a small piece of breadcrumb into the oil. If it sizzles immediately, your oil is hot enough.
- Fry the calamari rings in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. This ensures even cooking and a crispy finish. Fry until they turn a golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Once done, drain the calamari rings on paper towels to get rid of excess oil.
- Serve your Golden-Crisp Calamari Rings with fresh lemon wedges and a bowl of tangy marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
