Servings: 2

Ingredients

Ciabatta bread

Fresh mozzarella cheese
8 ounces, sliced
Tomato
2 large, sliced
Fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup
Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Balsamic glaze
2 tablespoons
Salt
to taste
Pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a panini press or grill pan over medium heat.
  2. Brush one side of each slice of ciabatta bread with olive oil. This will help achieve a crispy, golden-brown crust.
  3. On the un-oiled side of two slices, layer the fresh mozzarella cheese, followed by tomato slices, and then scatter the fresh basil leaves on top.
  4. Drizzle the balsamic glaze evenly over the tomatoes and basil, allowing the sweetness to mingle with the savory ingredients.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste for an extra layer of flavor.
  6. Top with the remaining slices of ciabatta, ensuring the oiled side is facing up.
  7. Carefully place the sandwiches on the preheated panini press or grill pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and the cheese is beautifully melted.
  8. Once done, remove the sandwiches from the heat and let cool for a couple of minutes to allow the cheese to set slightly.
  9. Slice the sandwiches in half diagonally for a beautiful presentation and serve warm.
