Caprese Salad with Fresh Basil

A refreshing and simple salad made with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and basil leaves.

Ingredients

  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Balsamic vinegar (1 tablespoon)
  • Extra virgin olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Fresh basil leaves (1 cup)
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese (8 ounces, sliced)
  • Tomatoes (2 large, sliced)

Instructions

  1. Arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices on a serving plate.
  2. Tuck the fresh basil leaves in between the tomato and mozzarella slices.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the salad.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!
