Servings: 4

Ingredients

Ciabatta bread
1 loaf
Extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons
Fresh ripe tomatoes
2, sliced
Fresh mozzarella cheese
200g, sliced
Fresh basil leaves
a handful
Balsamic glaze
1 tablespoon
Sea salt
to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing the ciabatta bread in half horizontally.
  2. Lightly drizzle the extra virgin olive oil on the inner sides of both halves of the bread. This adds a depth of flavor and prevents the bread from becoming soggy.
  3. On the bottom half of the bread, arrange a layer of freshly sliced tomatoes.
  4. Next, place the slices of fresh mozzarella cheese on top of the tomatoes.
  5. Scatter the fresh basil leaves over the mozzarella cheese, adding as many as you prefer.
  6. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the basil leaves, tomatoes, and mozzarella. This sweet and tangy glaze enhances the flavors of the other ingredients.
  7. Season the sandwich with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  8. Cover the filling with the top half of the bread and press the sandwich together gently.
  9. Using a sharp knife, slice the sandwich into individual servings.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy the taste of Italy in every bite!
