4 cloves, minced
Green bell pepper
1, diced
Tomatoes
4 large, chopped
White wine
1 cup
Mussels
1 pound, cleaned
Prawns
1 pound, peeled and deveined
Clams
1 pound, cleaned
Fresh parsley
1/4 cup, chopped
Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste
Crusty bread
for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a cataplana or a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onions, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper. Sauté until softened and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook until they break down and form a thick sauce, approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the white wine and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, allowing the alcohol to evaporate slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Carefully add the cleaned clams, mussels, and prawns to the pot. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  6. Close the cataplana or cover the pot tightly. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and the shells have opened.
  7. Discard any shells that remain closed to ensure safety.
  8. Garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley before serving hot. Enjoy with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
